Gallery II

The nude body or figure is a tradition in most every art form and culture in history. In the US nude and semi nude photographs and other art forms are used to express ideals of male and female beauty and other human qualities of beauty. It was a central preoccupation of most all ancient Greek and Roman art. Models, actors, athletes, dancers, and artists themselves are photographed to express human energy and life itself., and nudes in various poses may express basic or complex emotions

In many ways a nude is a work of art whos subject matter is the unclothed human body, in and of itself a genre of art, in the same way as landscapes, fashion, still life, and other subject matters are a genre of art.  Even religious art features the nude format of the human figure. While I photograph everything from landscapes, still life, nature, portraiture, photo-journalistic photography, and write, the female human figure has always captured my lens more than anything else.

I was taught from a very young age that there is nothing wrong with nudity, only the perception that it is something more than it is, nature.
